KMart has replaced its now-obsolete HP printers and kiosks with Kodak Alaris systems. It’s been common understanding within the industry for perhaps six months or more that Kodak won the trial, and that Kodak equipment was being installed progressively in KMart stores through this year.

A competitive trial of Kodak and Fujifilm printing systems commenced over a year ago. The announcement has been an extraordinarily long time coming. ‘Currently, more than 20 percent of orders are coming directly from smartphones and we expect that to increase.’ By partnering with Kodak Alaris, customers will be able to print photos directly from their phones via Wi-Fi without the need for cables or wires through the Kodak Kiosk Connect app,’ said Andrew Brewer, Divisional Merchandise manager of Kmart. ‘Kmart is totally focused on making it convenient for customers to shop in our stores. ‘We’re thrilled to partner with Kmart Australia to help grow photo services in new and innovative ways,’ said Nicki Zongrone, president of Kodak Alaris Imaging – Consumer ( pictured right). Kmart Australia and Kodak Alaris this week confirmed that they have established an agreement ‘that enables Kmart to offer a complete in-store photo shopping experience using the latest photo printing technologies from Kodak Alaris.’
